Charting Our Community's Course: Make Your Voice Heard
map  Do you live in unincorporated Maine Township? Do you have great ideas about how this community could grow, change, and improve? Here’s a chance to make your voice heard.

The Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) and Cook County are working on a community plan for the Maine-Northfield unincorporated area, much of which is within District 63’s boundaries. Surrounded by Des Plaines, Glenview, Niles, Morton Grove, and Park Ridge, this large unincorporated area has never benefitted from a thoughtful, strategic plan for growth and development.

Now is the time.

To create a strong plan that can successfully shape the area for the next decade, resident input is essential and CMAP wants to hear from you! What do you like about our area? What would you change? What are your ideas about flooding, housing, transportation, parks and open space? If you live in the unincorporated area or attend school there (Apollo, Stevenson, or Washington), take CMAP’s online survey before January 31.

Next spring, CMAP will host a series of local public feedback events – with follow-up meetings to present the draft plan late in 2017. Interested in playing a bigger role? CMAP is also looking for citizens to host small meetings – particularly with non-English speaking residents – to spread the word about the planning process.
