First Steps Community Preschool: A Fun Place to Grow!

Community Preschool

Looking for a great place for your young child to learn, make friends, and have fun? Open up a world of wonder at First Steps Community Preschool at D63! From art projects and music to outdoor activities, First Steps offers children who live in District 63 a research-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum that enhances language, motor, and social skills; promotes independence; and prepares them for kindergarten! Applications are now being accepted.

In each classroom -- located at District 63 elementary schools -- highly-qualified state-certified teachers provide a wide range of hands-on experiences and creative activities. Offered Monday-Friday during the school year, two-and-a-half hour preschool sessions are available in the morning or afternoon at Melzer School in Morton Grove and Apollo School in Des Plaines. There are several blended classrooms where students with special needs, students who are at risk and community students attend preschool together.

First Steps Preschool follows all state and federal guidelines applicable to the school district itself. Children may be accepted throughout the school year once they turn three years old, and must be toilet trained. Tuition for the 2016-2017 school year is $2,935.

Give your child a chance to explore new horizons!
